Growing Healthier Together – CAMHI invites you to the WHO event at Zappeion
Come meet us in person, and together let’s amplify the voices of children and adolescents through a vibrant program that connects experience with science and participation with change.
The World Health Organization (WHO) Office for Quality of Care and Patient Safety in Athens brings to the forefront one of the most critical issues of our time: the mental health and well-being of children and young people. A day dedicated to the mental health of children, adolescents, their families, and caregivers, filled with activities, crafts, games, information, and experiences worth sharing.
The event will take place on May 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Zappeion Garden in Athens, and admission is free.
The program will feature information booths with over 20 leading mental health organizations, offering practical tools, resources, and expert guidance. Eugenia Samara will host and present the event.
The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Initiative (CAMHI) will participate with both a booth and stage presence. At the booth, visitors will learn about the importance of youth participation in decisions that affect them, discover the Youth Engagement Scheme (YES), receive informational materials, and join the interactive action “Let Teen Voices Be Heard.” Visitors can take photos holding the message “Teenagers Have a Lot to Say, Let’s Listen!” and share them across their networks, helping spread this awareness campaign.
On stage, CAMHI will present a 20-minute session on the YES program through teen experiences, creative dialogue, and practical examples, demonstrating how youth participation leads to more meaningful and effective mental health interventions. Presenters will include Savvas Metaxas, Coordinator of the Athens Teen Advisory Group and YES Educational Activities; Katerina Pronoiti, YES Administrative Support and Monitoring Lead; and two student members of the YES Teen Advisory Group, Faidra Kosteletou and Christos Patelis.
