Our cooperation with the National School of the Judiciary (ESDI) continues
After the completion of the first two-day training sessions that we developed last June in Athens and Thessaloniki, in the framework of the internship of the students of the National School of the Judiciary (ESDI), the "ESDI team" of CAMHI is now updating the training material to be even more adapted to the needs of the students, as expressed by them in a questionnaire.
The evaluation revealed a high degree of student satisfaction, which the Director General of the School, Ms Papadopoulou, and the training manager, Ms Argyropoulou also confirmed. All this was followed by the suggestion of the School's managers to extend the training to the current Judicial Officers.
This took place in the framework of an ESDI workshop training seminar on "Transnational and national programs and action plans for the promotion of child-friendly justice - preparing the courts to implement these programs". On behalf of CAMHI , the hub center in Thessaloniki was represented by two of its leaders:
- Lilian Athanasopoulou, Child-Adolescent Psychiatrist, Coordinating Director of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, G.N. 'G. PAPANIKOLAOU' who presented: "Cooperation between Mental Health Services for Children and Adolescents and Judicial Officers"
- Nikos Zilikis, Professor Emeritus of Child-Adolescent Psychiatry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, who presented: "Child-friendly Justice: The Key Example of Child Protection".
The five-hour-long conference, which was held online on 12/11/2024, featured a multifaceted approach to the topic by speakers from a variety of disciplines. By all accounts, it was a complete success. The field of Child-Adolescent Mental Health was represented by the CAMHI's speakers. The great interest shown by judges is demonstrated by the fact that 445 people attended the workshop and another event is planned for 9 December this year.
We believe that this experience opens up new prospects for collaboration between the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Initiative and the National School of the Judiciary.
